SELF DEFENCE CLASSES
Jasper generally has a low opinion of the value of teaching fighting techniques to people who are not naturally adept at fighting, but between the fact that it's her assigned job and her gradual grudging acceptance of the differences that come with working with humans and other organic species, she has persisted anyway. C'mon, it's not like she's going to not do her job.
She is not an excellent teacher – she isn't very patient and she is kind of a bully – but she does at least know her stuff when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Mostly. She is at least getting more and more used to the fact that most of the people she's teaching don't have her strength or stamina and that none of them can do sonic the hedgehog spin dashes, and not holding people to impossible standards – although if you're doing below average by class standards she will probably be rude to you.
Also important to note is that Jasper doesn't really see the point of limiting this stuff to just defence and has probably been teaching people how to actively aggress things as well.
So that's, you know, the broad basics of it, and what you can assume your character knows about Jasper if they've ever been to one of her classes, but I would super appreciate it if you could reply here with the following useful info! in return I will tell you how Jasper feels about them.

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: she's physically strong, but doesn't like brawling. she can take punches but can't really give them out very well. tfw u are Too Gun

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Reluctant to punch, good at dodging, good at blocking (especially if he has a shield like thing). His monster abilities give him a wealth of combat possibilities that Jasper is probably not expecting. YOU KNOW HOW IT IS. He has sedatives in his teeth and vines and sticky goo. He insists that he doesn't have to hurt people because he's good at trapping them and dodging them.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: JASPER JUST NEEDS TO LEARN TO RESPECT THE STRENGTH OF HIS CHARACTER. He is expecting constant BS from her so he is well guarded against insults and rude implications. He will be aggressively friendly. Friendship is a battlefield. He is in favour of GETTING RIPPED with her.

she grudgingly appreciates the monster accoutrements (although, mixing a THIRD THING with being a gem is a bit much for her) but she will probably sternly remind him he's not here to learn stuff he's already good at. GET PUNCHING, KID

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Due to being literally made of dust and all that, if Jasper ever took a real I-want-to-hurt-you swing at him, she'd pulverize him. But he's tough for his species and would be really excited to learn non-magic fighting styles!
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: Well, a very tall blue fish woman regularly piledrives him into snow at home, so he likely takes it as motivation and thanks her enthusiastically. She's so strong. SO VERY COOL.

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Punching: Absolutely awful. He doesn't want to, he doesn't know how, and he has about as much upper-body strength as one would expect from a twelve-year-old with a history of illness and malnourishment.
Getting punched: Not much better. He's not good at blocking or dodging, and usually just curls up on the floor in a silent ball of terror.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: "I know. :I"

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Punching: Bad. Getting Punched: Mediocre. Back home, armor lessens and nanotech absorb damage, but he doesn't have that here. He's good at dodging though.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: Ratchet's used to people thinking he's a weenie, so nbd.

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Quite good! Zam is proficient in Mabari martial arts and is a slippery target to keep pinned due to their skeletal shapeshifting.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: Not at all offended. They’re awesome and you know it, Jasper.

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Lmao.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: Peridot knows now that she's at least a tiny bit tougher than Jasper gives her credit for (at least in terms of grit, not actual physical strength), but she's still just kind of like 'well yeah' about her inability to fight without some kind of technological backup.

yeah,,,, Jasper has come to accept that it's okay for humans and other organic beings to do stuff they weren't specifically designed for because they can do stuff like, you know, become more buff by working out, but she is still pretty skeptical about the idea of gems doing anything they weren't made to do...so...........

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: he has probably been punched like, twice in his life, and suffered it nobly. but he's ok with punching, he has training. also: baseline human, so.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: if he catches a glimpse of orange he is heading in the other direction, thanks. so uh. poorly???

I'm talking shit like bringing a cardboard crate to sit in and telling anyone who asks that he's learning to box. It's a bad scene.
How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: If he's ever coaxed into throwing a punch, it will be the most comically weak punch in the history of punches. As for taking punches, Sans never puts himself in a position to be hit. If a punch comes his way anyway, Sans will side step it or teleport out of the way.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: Oh, he agrees with her wholeheartedly.

How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: He would have to question her objectivity.

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: He's terrible at punching, will get back up if he gets punched (as long as he can), and he's not very athletic. In canon, he went for a jog and was winded a few minutes in. lmao.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: He'd handle it pretty well. He knows he can't fight! That's why he's there.

How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: actually pretty well. he finds it very charming
like, terrifying and charming
but charming nonetheless

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: He's more trained for weapons-work/could probably TEACH a melee-arms class, but a year in Ryslig means that while someone who's specialized-unarmed will be way better at it, he's not useless.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: "YOU WANNA FIGHT?" "THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS!"

How good is your character at punching, getting punched, etc: Quite good. Fully human with human stamina and durability, but has considerable military hand-to-hand training and has kept in shape. Can give her some human-anatomical-structure tips and pitch in as a sparring/demonstration partner, and is very interested in learning strengths and weaknesses of the various nonhuman types and their fighting styles.
How well do they take to having eight and a half foot tall orange women tell them they are a wimp: Respectful in class (though passive-aggressive if it becomes personal in a way that feels unjustified), sassing back out of class.
