Feb. 13th, 2020 01:39 pmJasper's history involves multiple abuse scenarios that she thought ruled, so if you'd prefer to rule out having her mention how radical it was to be held prisoner and tortured in a physical metaphor for a mutually unhealthy relationship, let me know here!
She's also a war veteran who was complicit in shit like rounding up early humans to be kept captive in a space zoo. She's killed both other gems and inhabitants of organic planets; she thinks of the latter as on the same level as eradicating vermin. Again, let me know if you'd prefer to avoid any discussion of that kind of thing.
On a different note entirely, because Jasper comes from a society where all gems are "she", recognising human cultural gender markers does not come easily to her, and she doesn't consider differentiating much of a priority. She makes a cursory effort to remember how people refer to themselves, much as she makes a cursory effort to remember their individual names, which gems also don't have, because it makes talking to people easier. She won't go out of her way to misgender someone and I won't either, especially with player characters! But she will occasionally do things like default to "she" to refer to strangers or express uncertainty about another person's gender – if that's something you'd prefer to avoid happening in threads with you, please tell me so I can make sure it doesn't!
General permissions for interacting with Jasper:
BACKTAGGING: yes!
THREADHOPPING: absolutely, if everyone else involved is on board
FOURTHWALLING: nah
FIGHTIN: please do whatever you like she loves to throw down
HUGGIN: jasper has never been hugged in her life but you are welcome to try
SMOOCHIN: see above
KILLIN: the only way to 'kill' Jasper is to punch her in the nose so hard it breaks which is always a good time imo. obviously ask me first tho
INJURY: ask me! serious injuries to Jasper's physical form will result in her 'poofing' back to her gem and so will incapacitate her completely for a short time.
MIND/EMPATHY POWERS: i am totally down for Jasper to have her thoughts & emotions both read and controlled! just hit me up so i know whats goin on

DESCRIPTION: JASPER DEFINITELY DOESN'T CHECK HER MAIL THOUGH
SELF DEFENCE CLASSES
Mar. 7th, 2016 02:40 pmJasper generally has a low opinion of the value of teaching fighting techniques to people who are not naturally adept at fighting, but between the fact that it's her assigned job and her gradual grudging acceptance of the differences that come with working with humans and other organic species, she has persisted anyway. C'mon, it's not like she's going to not do her job.
She is not an excellent teacher – she isn't very patient and she is kind of a bully – but she does at least know her stuff when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Mostly. She is at least getting more and more used to the fact that most of the people she's teaching don't have her strength or stamina and that none of them can do sonic the hedgehog spin dashes, and not holding people to impossible standards – although if you're doing below average by class standards she will probably be rude to you.
Also important to note is that Jasper doesn't really see the point of limiting this stuff to just defence and has probably been teaching people how to actively aggress things as well.
So that's, you know, the broad basics of it, and what you can assume your character knows about Jasper if they've ever been to one of her classes, but I would super appreciate it if you could reply here with the following useful info! in return I will tell you how Jasper feels about them.
